Mitakanomori Ghibli Museum is a museum for animation works centered on the opus of Studio Ghibli. (appointment required for entry)

The facility opened in October 2001,with a mission to propagate animation culture through exhibits and introduction messages targeted at the next generation.

15 years have passed since its opening and it was decided to renovate since general deterioration and system malfunctions have become evident.
In order to not diminish the image of the museum that has been nourished over 15years, the same materials, construction and details as the original were pursued and the work itself was entrusted to the people responsible for the museum as much as possible.
