Matsuyama City Nakajima town community center
We designed the Nakajima town community center as a facility to deepen understanding of nature, history and culture in what is now Matsuyama city, along the Seto Inland Sea.
The city is cultivating structures with architecture which combines with the landscape, gently tying together with the stepped rice field biotopes and surrounding mandarin orange plantations.
With a theme of co-existing with the nature, the facility has a stepped rice field biotope and solar panels installed.
It uses granite produced on the island, which lends its softer feel to the air around the center.
