HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY
At Nihon Sekkei, we embrace the mission of "Cherish the Individual, Respect Nature, and Innovate the Future" as part of our corporate philosophy. Through our designs in architecture, urban planning, and environmental projects, we aim to create spaces that nurture the rich and free activities of individuals and foster connections among people. As such, we recognize the importance of upholding human rights as a critical endeavor.
We also aim to be a group that recognizes, respects, and trusts each individuality and values in order to create an environment that fosters to vibrant and free activities. Therefore, we believe that it is our responsibility, in the course of our business activities, to uphold and respect human rights.
This policy is founded on the Nihon Sekkei corporate philosophy and serves as a clear expression of our commitment to respecting human rights and fulfilling our social responsibilities.
Scope of Application:
This policy applies to all employees and officers of Nihon Sekkei. Furthermore, we expect our business partners and relevant stakeholders to understand and comply with this policy.
Support and Respect for International Norms:
We support the basic rights outlined in the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" and the "ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work." These fundamental rights include freedom of association and collective bargaining, prohibition of forced labor, effective abolition of child labor, prohibition of discrimination in employment and occupation, and ensuring a safe and healthy working environment. We pledge to uphold these international norms and respect human rights in accordance with this policy.
Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations:
We comply with the relevant laws and regulations in the countries and regions where we conduct business activities, including Japan. In cases where there may be conflicts between internationally recognized human rights principles and local laws and regulations, we will strive to find solutions that uphold international human rights principles to the greatest extent possible.
Implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence:
We identify critical issues related to human rights and continuously address them to minimize adverse impacts and prevent harm. We actively work to improve our response to these issues and their current status to prevent and mitigate potential adverse effects on human rights.
Remedies and Corrections:
Where we identify that our business activities have caused adverse impacts on human rights of others or contributed to it, we will take appropriate measures to remedy and correct the situation through appropriate processes.
Education and training:
We view all human rights issues as our own responsibility and strive to foster an organizational culture that respects and recognize the individuality and values of each person. To ensure the comprehensive understanding and implementation of this policy in our business activities, we provide proper education and training to our employees and officers.
