Consortium of Nippon Sekkei and Zhejiang Province Institute of Architectural Design and Research (ZIAD) won the first prize in the competition for the Clinical Education Building of the Taizhou Central Hospital in China.

In June 2022, Nihon Sekkei, in collaboration with the Zhejiang Province Institute of Architectural Design and Research (ZIAD) won the first prize in the competition for the Clinical Education Building of the Taizhou Central Hospital in China.

This project is Phase I of an expansion of the Taizhou City Central Hospital (existing 1,000 beds) located in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, China, with a gross floor area of approximately 48,000㎡ and 600 beds.

We started from analyzing the medical functions of existing hospitals and the environment surrounding the healthcare sector to consider the future image and future value of hospitals.
We focused on responding to diversifying medical needs, realizing a well-being environment, and envisioning future growth and change. We proposed a next-generation hospital that is open to the urban space ,easily accessle and amenity, envisioning an era of long-term hospital visits for lifelong health, with the spread of pre-emptive medical care and others.

By harmonizing the medical functions of the existing hospital with current and future plans, we aim to build a hospital that can continue to develop as an integrated medical complex in the future.
