Hamarikyu Intercity, Sky House Hamarikyu
This multi-use project realizes the contemporary needs in Japan for office buildings and rental apartments at a high grade.
Utilizing the advantages of being located close to both Tokyo Bay and central Tokyo, full height windows together with semi-exterior spaces (balconies) were provided for both offices and apartments to enjoy the views of the sea and the city. The bounty of the surrounding natural environment is not only visually, but also physically brought into the interior spaces.
The gentle curve of the facade evokes images of a large cruise ship accentuated by the soft colors of pigment impregnated architectural concrete panels which suggests associations with the ocean, both up close and from a distance.
The landscaping is richly endowed with water and green spaces, contributing to the improvement of the surrounding environment.
